Why software quality matters in connected healthcare operations 

Healthcare and benefits organizations operate across data, applications, providers, employers, and members. The challenge before UiPath 

As VSP Vision’s application landscape expanded through mergers and acquisitions, testing complexity moved well beyond SAP ECC, their primary application under test. The team needed to validate end-to-end business processes across web applications, APIs, AS400/Mainframe systems, and other critical enterprise platforms. 

VSP Vision also needed to preserve regression coverage as applications changed, without allowing manual execution to determine how much could be tested within a delivery window. 

Automation existed, but it was more difficult to reuse and coordinate across technologies. VSP Vision needed a way to connect test authoring, execution, results, and ownership while maintaining the human review required for responsible release decisions.  

Why UiPath Test Cloud? 

VSP Vision has already established UiPath as a strategic automation platform through its broader RPA initiatives and UiPath Test Suite. This gave the testing organization an existing foundation of infrastructure, skills, and organizational familiarity. 

Rather than introducing another isolated testing environment, VSP Vision chose to upgrade to UiPath Test Cloud to bring more of its application landscape into a common testing approach. The company needed one product that could support SAP, web applications, APIs, databases, Salesforce, and legacy platforms such as AS400, while providing centralized test management, orchestration, and execution. 

Test Cloud supports low-code and coded test authoring, UI and API workflows, and test management within the same environment. Its AI-assisted capabilities can help teams with test design, test automation, and synthetic test-data creation, while VSP Vision teams remain responsible for reviewing generated assets, validating results, and deciding whether a change is ready to move forward.

Moving from Test Suite to Test Cloud without starting over 

For VSP Vision, the move from UiPath Test Suite to UiPath Test Cloud continued an established testing capability. Existing automation assets were retained and adapted or standardized in UiPath as needed, while Test Cloud provided a central environment for test management, orchestration, and execution. The transition required minimal effort because VSP Vision was already using UiPath’s testing platform. The first rollout focused on Supply Chain teams and critical SAP ECC processes, including order management, inventory, procurement, and logistics. The team also developed automation for web-based and mainframe applications.  

Building a more consistent testing foundation 

VSP Vision’s experience points to three common challenges in enterprise testing: fragmented applications, disconnected tools, and limited time for regression validation. Test Cloud gives VSP Vision one place to manage automated test assets and execution across different authoring styles and application types. It also supports a practical combination of repeatable automation and human review: automation performs the checks, Test Manager organizes the work, and accountable people interpret the evidence and make decisions. The value is not simply more automated than steps. It is a more connected record of what is tested, where it runs, what changed, and what the team knows before a release.

Enablement and developer training have helped VSP Vision’s QA teams standardize how they develop, maintain, and execute automated tests. Reusable assets make it easier to apply prior work to new business processes, while centralized execution gives teams a clearer view of what has run and what still needs attention. 

The impact also reaches SAP functional teams. VSP Vision uses UiPath automation to support SAP refresh activities, helping reduce repetitive operational work. Business and technical stakeholders can work from a more consistent view of automated assets and results, giving specialists better evidence when assessing change. 

A practical lesson for enterprise testing 

VSP Vision’s experience shows how an organization can move from an established test automation program to a broader, more governed testing approach without discarding completed work. 

The important change is not hands-free testing. It is a consistent way to validate business processes across applications, preserve human accountability, and make automation useful as systems continue to change.  

Looking ahead with UiPath Test Cloud 

VSP Vision plans to continue using AI-assisted capabilities for test design, test script creation, and test-data creation; expand automated coverage; support SAP S/4HANA work in Finance; and explore ALM and CI/CD integrations.
